We're very excited to have a new office in the historical town of Royal Tunbridge Wells and are looking forward to helping clients here with their legal needs.
Tunbridge Wells became famous due to its health-giving chalybeate spring (the waters contain salts of iron), situated in the Pantiles, becoming a fashionable resort during the 1700s. However, anthropological excavations in the mid 1900s showed remains of a hillfort and suspected Iron Age activities and it is suspected that humans settled here some time ago, mining the iron-rich rocks and farming the fields.
An iron forge can still be seen in the grounds of Bayham Abbey.
In 1909 it was granted the prefix "Royal" by King Edward VII due to it's popularity with royalty.
